About TCCThe new Tri-County Communications Cooperative, Inc. is a result of the merger of three separate entities forming one new cooperative. The telecommunications companies involved in the merger were Western Wisconsin Communications Cooperative, Tri-County Telephone Cooperative, and Tri-West Communications. The merger officially took place on January 1, 2006. Below you will find a brief background on the three organizations prior to the merger.
Western Wisconsin Communications Cooperative (WWCC)WWCC has been serving rural areas in West Central Wisconsin with full cable television and digital services since 1980. In fact WWCC was the only Cable Television cooperative in America. Tri-County Telephone Cooperative (TCTC)TCTC was a cooperative that started in 1961 to provide basic telephone service to those in the rural areas that were out of reach of the bigger telephone companies serving the cities. TCTC was Wisconsin's first telephone exchange to provide all private-line service. Tri-West CommunicationsTri-West Communications was an Internet provider offering dial-up, cable modem, DSL and business services.
